Non-Defective Merchandise Returns
Items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as they are new, uninstalled, and in original packaging. A 30% restocking fee applies. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
Defective Product Returns
Must be returned within 10 days of the invoice date for a same-item replacement. All defective items will be tested upon return. If the item is found to be in working condition, no refund or replacement will be provided. Items that do not meet the defective return criteria will be denied and returned at the customer’s expense.
Order Cancellations & Refused Shipments
Cancellations must be made via email and require confirmation from our customer service team. If an order has already shipped and is refused upon delivery, standard restocking fees will apply.
Claims for Shortages, Damages, or Incorrectly Shipped Items
Any claims must be made within 5 business days of receiving the package. Exchanges are not allowed, but you may purchase another item and return the unwanted one following our return guidelines.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Assembled or specialty order parts
- Discontinued items
- Faceplates, plates and covers
- Non-Returnable and final sale items (on-sale items are non-returnable)
- Floor box assemblies and kitchen counter top boxes
- Recessed trims (LED inserts) and housings
- Halogen, fluorescent and incandescent products

Shipping & Liability
Shipping charges are non-refundable. Any return-related shipping costs will be deducted from the refund. Sonic Electric is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Any claims should be made directly with the carrier. Refunds (minus applicable fees) will be processed within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.
